LIVE RECORDINGS: Silent Barn Resurrection Show Redux

On Wednesday May 22nd, Brown Wing (original flavor) w/Mikey IQ Jones made some noise at Silent Barn. The set was short and sweet but its safe to say the co-webs are sufficiently dusted/blown off.

See the last two minutes set crescendo:

You can also view Derek’s photos of the night on Flickr which includes Pet Bottle Ningen, Barr/Deblase/Kwartowitz Trio, and DeTrop.

Thanks to Yuko and Peter Gannushkin for capturing the evening as well. See Peter’s photos at his crazy amazing website

Zombie Allergy … a collaboration with (((10 )))

(((10))) came all the way from Korea to tour the United States with Brown Wing Overdrive in April 2010 . Zombie Allergy is the culmination of their energies documented at the end of their travels; which involved, amongst other things, Itta frantically beating a drum to a point where she had to get surgery on her shoulder!

Released June 23rd, 2012
Chuck Bettis – electronics + throat,
Derek Morton – electronics
Itta – voice, keytar, percussion
Marqido – electronics

Out of Print – L Phantasm released on FMA for your listening pleasure.

Brown Wing Overdrive

Kavekavity released only 50 cdrs of L Phantasm and rather keep this a secret, we decided it was time to share this madness via Free Music Archive. Enjoy!

L Phantasm collects the best of Brown Wing Overdrive’s haunted states circa 2006 (and a few years after). This release is the last in the IQ trilogy and is actually prequel to all of BWO’s releases thus far. Although early BWO began as a duo between Chuck Bettis and Derek Morton, L Phantasm marks the beginning of Mikey IQ Jones added mayhem that would span over three records and a few years of live shows. The manic rhythmic interplay of ESP Organism, the bands Tzadik release, is replaced by Morton’s poisonous synth vapors, coaxing Bettis into fugue states where his vocals reach out beyond the dead. Anguished electronics, chaotic circuits define the records exploration of deep psyche-dementia through noise and séance.

LIVE RECORDING w/Yuriko Higuchi and Dave Miller (@ Coco 66)

Live @ Coco66

BWO performed another ritual on 6/19/11 at Coco66 with drummer Dave Miller (PET BOTTLE NINGEN), a close collaborator of recent months. Unbeknownst to both Dave & Derek at that time is that Chuck secretly invited saxophonist Yuriko Higuchi (YOKAI, SILVER PROCESS) to join BWO during the performance. The surprise worked well and an explosion of spontaneity erupted.
